Save the Children Alliance

Background - Save the Children in Papua New Guinea: Opening of Wewak's new Save the Children Office Save the Children in Papua New Guinea (SCiPNG) is a joint program of Save the Children New Zealand (SCNZ) and Save the Children Australia (SCA), who are members of the International Save the Children Alliance, the largest global movement for children. Members of the Save the Children Alliance are non-profit, non-governmental, non sectarian organisations dedicated to upholding the rights reflected in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
Save the Children's Mission - 'Save the Children fights for children's rights. We deliver immediate and lasting improvements to children's lives worldwide' Save the Children has been working in PNG for over 30 years, with programs providing significant contributions to improving the lives of women, children and communities. SCiPNG currently works in the areas of health, education, HIV AIDS, adult literacy, disability, family violence and child protection; as well as promotion of the rights of children. We are expanding with over 80 staff and operates from our country office in Goroka, as well as from project sites in Wewak, Port Morseby, Lae and Madang.
